Some time ago I wrote about the ways in which I find “being busy” and “being productive” can become idols, disconnecting me from my sense of vocation.  Ben Edson has a good post here about time as a negative status symbol – worth reading the comments too.

Busy…  if a phone line is busy we mean it’s unavailable for our immediate use…  A busy design is cluttered, full of distracting detail.

Doesn’t seem particularly Lenten  (though there’s got to be some kind of irony about posting a Lenten blog about whether being busy can become a sin just before midnight because your day has been so ridiculously busy!)
